Since when is it ok to post these kind of pictures? When you're a parent, evidently. Please excuse Shauna's legs. She can only get so much done in her busy days. She's doing the best she can.
Fell asleep in her plate. I need to take notes.
Rather than give you a side-by-side comparison, we'll just let you keep guessing whose bum she inherited...
She takes great pleasure in the finer things in life- a good stretch being one of them. It's an art form for her.
There are other things in life around here besides Emma but we'll leave it here for now.

Getting Acquainted
There's still some jealousy brewing with our first child. Emma doesn't seem to be too fussed about it. I think she's taunting the poor dog. All of those interesting new smells and Scout's not allowed to get too close. Very perturbing.
Evidently there are other things going on in the world. It's quite exciting that our lilacs decided to bloom this year.
An evening trip to Cauldron Linn.
Momma's with us 'til Saturday. Then we fly solo for a couple weeks until Parma. Shauna's mom will spend some time here after that. It's good to have someone in the house who has some experience in this crazy thing called motherhood. And with three sets of hands your odds of being on the wrong end of a poopy diaper are greatly reduced!

Adjustments
Our poor first child is having first child syndrome. Extremely jealous, always wanting to be under foot and in the middle of things, resorting to being a pain to get attention and can't figure out why she's always getting in trouble. Hopefully Scout will figure it out soon. You can look but you can't lick.
In the mean time, here are some more pictures for you to drool over. No licking.
First Sunday morning out!
I'm sure there are other noteworthy things going on in the world around us, but we haven't noticed.

Home to stay
Emma wound up back in the hospital Wednesday evening. Needed some more time in the oven. But her numbers stabilized overnight and she was back home Thursday afternoon. All's well and back to normal. Uh. The new normal. Totally new normal.
But, let's put it in reverse for a bit. Here's momma after her epidural. Passed out completely from exhaustion. Of course we would never take advantage of that opportunity...
The many faces of Emma. You know those little plastic photo flip things? The ones that parents and grandparents have in their wallets? Mini photo albums of their oh-so-cute children.
Hooray for blogs! Those little plastic things could only hold like six pictures. Here you get to enjoy so many more!
Terrific.
Just what you were looking for.
I've provided some interpretations for you all. Just in case yo can't pick up on the subtle differences between the different grimaces and screwed up faces.
Stay tuned. There's sure to be more to come!

Awake- barely.
Heading home from the hospital. You'd think she would have been a little more enthused about getting out of there.
Home. A titch frazzled.

My what a big binky you have.
The better to practice with.
You folks are interesting and all, but where's that great dad of mine?
Check out the long fingers. She can already palm a basketball. Oh, and the face is really cute too!
'Scuse me
My dad is so funny!
Ow. There's something in my ear.
Practicing her theatrics.
Now, what did you guys do with those boobs?
Couldn't capture the one of her winking and raising her eyebrow at the same time. Can't decide if she wants it open or closed. That is, of course, one of the signs of advanced intelligence.Where are those boobs?
Have you seen my afternoon snack anywhere?
Ok. Seriously. Boobs please. Now.
Stay tuned. There's sure to be more to come!

Blue Light Special
She's a bit yellow so she gets to lay in the blue for a while.
And a while longer.
And a bit longer.
She'll be spending another night at the spa but should be going home tomorrow morning.
The grandfolks.
If one's not sleepy, the other is.
Getting a little supplemental income. You can see the yellow where her mask is. Trying to get a little bit more fluid into her to expedite her poo factory.
Look, we have a little kitten. Or puppy. That might be a little more agreeable for Scout.
