Testing- testing-

Does this thing still work?
For as long as we've been gone from this blog you'd think there has been a lot going on. I suppose so, but nothing earth-shattering. Shauna got a job at the bank (not earth-shattering but sure to put the bank into a tail spin), Scout's growing like a weed, Kenyon and Julie moved to the area, grain harvest has come and almost gone...

Korbin, Kenyon and Julie's tricycle motor. A while back. Holding Scout.

He has a harder time holding her now. It's still hard to get a picture of her- still very much a puppy.

At the controls. Even let Shauna take it for a spin for a while. She's been spending quite a bit of time riding with me. And Scout comes when we know she's going to be tired. Shauna takes her to Korbin's house to play for a few hours before coming out to the combine. She's usually ready to crash by then. And Shauna. Some company they are.

This is Mark. He's been helping us with harvest. This was how he ended the previous day. We pulled into a new field at about 11 pm. I went right, he went left. I missed the mud by twenty feet. He buried his combine up to its belly. Really good for doing what they're designed to do- not so swell at other things. Keep 'em on dry ground.

One more day of grain. (Plus however long it takes to do all the neighborly 'favors' we got roped into. "Oh, you have combines? We just have a little piece we need cut over here. And here.") Then we run around like mad to get ready for potatoes. Then beets.
Check back in November.
We might have another update then.
