The rest of Hawaii is going to have to wait....I know there are some that would like to see what is happening at the house! So...the weather has been GORGEOUS...so I've been out every day this week...wittling away at the weeds..I have declared war...or something..that was tested yesterday against the tree roots growing up in front of the garage (more on that later). so, anyway, here are the "flower beds" now...Kevin took some before pics on his blog awhile ago, but its hard to compare. And I'm not sure he took pics of all the flower beds.. the soil here is AMAZING...hence we grow really great weeds! But there are green things poking up all around, so that is exciting! Oh yes, and the cemented in area is the strawberry patch. Kevin came home, and said, What did you do to the strawberries....I said, I pulled out the weeds. 'Oh'. There was a weed in there that looked very like a strawberry plant but the roots that were an inch in diameter and the fact that it is growing EVERYWHERE, gave it away. So, I cut that out and the dead strawberry leaves, and now maybe they will grow? Help! What do I do to help them along?
Hm, you could start a composting toilet, maybe that would help the strawberries.
