Friday night I was raking a few leaves, courtesy of our neighbors prolific foliage- from which we are directly down wind. (Our trees are still green. Ever the optimists around here!) Scout loves leaves. I think it's mainly because it's one more way to get in the way. 'Let human bury me in pile of leaves, spring from pile like a bee bit my hind end and explode the pile everywhere.' And on and on. Woke up Saturday morning to 5 inches of snow. Out of a clear, blue, mild mannered fall, comes old man winter. A couple more inches came down today while we were in meeting. So, let's repeat the previous scenario. After Scout's first tentative foray into the snowy yard, she decided this was going to be as much fun as the leaves had been. At least she can't scatter the snow too far when she springs out from underneath it. And here's a great quandary for our friends who love to play catch: where exactly did that snowball land anyway?
And, for this week's house guests: bring your woolen undies. -3 come Wednesday night. Might bring some gloves too. Leave the wind at home though.

Yup, I can vouch for the snow and cold. 'twas a bit nippy while we were there but sorry I don't believe we brought that wind with us!! Thanks again for everything - had a wonderful time with you two!!
